BCN LONDON COMMITTEE
The BCN Committee is made up of 7 members. Their role is to ensure the running of the BCN London chapter. The committee meet frequently to discuss club matters to ensure our members get the best experience and can cycle safely. The BCN Committee members were formed of established members, feel free to contact them or speak to them directly at one of our BCN rides.

The BCN LDN Committee
MANI
Chair
Role: Overseeing the day to day management of the club.

Mani got into cycling in 2009. He used his bike to commute to work. He caught the cycling bug in 2011 after a colleague convinced him to ride from London to Denmark for charity. Since then, Mani has travelled the world on his bike and competed in amateur and professional level bike races here in the UK and Internationally. He currently represents Ghana on the world stage. In 2018 Mani formed Black Cyclists Network to encourage black and brown riders to get into cycling. Mani has championed diversity and inclusion.
JO
Secretary & Events
Role: Secretarial admin duties as well as planning Club Events for BCN Memberships, alongside Debs.

Jo has been involved behind the scenes at BCN since the beginning. She helped create the BCN Kit and logo. Jo started riding with BCN 2 years ago, where she has found her cleats and developed her cycling skills.
Jo is very passionate about movement, whether it be exercise, yoga or travel, and is a keen ambassador for diversity and inclusion.
MARK
Membership Coordinator
Role: Members point of contact for registration an membership queries, works alongside with Wein.

Mark’s route into cycling was via training for a short London triathlon many moons ago. The Triathlon journey was held up by the pandemic restrictions on swimming but cycling with BCN has more than filled the gap! His working background is in the legal profession. After spending many years in corporate advisory roles he’s now a legal consultant. When relaxing away from his bike and family likes to spend time trying to educate himself on history and languages.
WEIN
Membership Coordinator
Role: Members point of contact for registration an membership queries, works alongside with Mark.

Meet Wein, the mild mannered cyclist.
Wein’s background is in technology and is an IT Professional in the corporate arena for over twenty years, so naturally he’s a bit of a Star Wars nerd. Mention anything sci-fi and you’ll have his attention. Wein has been cycling since he was 7 and being on two wheels comes very naturally to him whether it be Road or MTB (he’s not yet mastered the uni cycle). Other strings to his bow are Snowboarding and he is also a Professional Event Photographer, so smile when you meet him.
To Wein, BCN means unity as well as belonging and a safe space without pretence for a cyclist of colour.
SIMON
Welfare Officer
Role: Ensures the club are following best practise for welfare of members.

Simon’s background is in medicine and when he's not cycling, he works as a child & adolescent psychiatrist at University College London Hospitals in the department of paediatrics. Simon has been working with children, young people and families for most of his medical career, mainly in Camden and Islington. As well as being proud to be a part of the BCN mission, Simon is also involved in a local charity that works mainly with young people and the environment
JULIAN
Treasurer
Role: Keeps records of BCN London Club funds from events

Away from cycling Julian is a Martial artist who holds a black belt in Karate and enjoys teaching and developing others. He likes to express his creativity through his musical talents and also through his passion for food and cooking
